A tornado passed through northeast across counties in Arkansas on Friday night. According to the National Weather Service, the large and extremely dangerous tornado was near Swifton, 11 miles northeast of Newport,

All three of the Arkansans who died when tornadoes hit Arkansas on Friday night were on Claxton Loop in Cushman when the storm hit, according to the Independence County coroner.

After severe weather Friday night, several counties in north Arkansas suffered damage from tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.
