The Georgia Department of Agriculture shut down all poultry activities, including sales and exhibitions, in the state after bird flu was detected at a commercial poultry operation.

Now, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper is reassuring people that eating poultry products is safe, despite the positive case. “Every Georgian can and should have 100% confidence in the safety and security of poultry products offered for sale in the state of Georgia,” Harper said.
