Organizers of the Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade in New Orleans are looking for a new day to roll after canceling due to the threat of severe storms. Why it matters: Chances are increasing for nasty weather Saturday.

According to organizers with the Irish Channel parade, the risk of rain and severe storms has forced them to cancel Saturday's parade.

Parade organizer Jeff Delatte said Wednesday morning that he is monitoring the weather forecast in coordination with the New Orleans Police Department.
