All state offices will be closed on Tuesday "due to extreme winter weather," according to a social media post on Friday from Louisiana State Civil Service, the agency that acts as the human resources department for state employees.

With incoming severe winter weather expected, many schools throughout southeastern Louisiana, as well as events planned for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, have been cancelled.
