Canadians vote on April 28 to elect a new prime minister. The key contenders are Mark Carney (Liberal) focusing on economic reform and government action, and Pierre Poilievre (Conservative) pushing for deregulation and tougher crime policies.

This comes after Carney briefly paused his election campaign on Sunday to express condolences to victims and their families hours after a vehicle attack in Vancouver killed nine people and injured many more.
