Marvel Studios is taking taking the MCU in a wild direction with The Fantastic Four: First Steps , and the biggest reveal yet is the introduction of Franklin Richards, one of the most powerful characters in Marvel Comics history.

First Steps mostly focuses on its titular group, but Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing aren’t the only heroes introduced in the film. One major player doesn’t get a superhero name,

DC's "Superman" previously held the record for highest box office sales in Thursday night previews for 2025, with $22.5 million. Now, Marvel is reporting "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" sped past that figure, earning $24.4 million in Thursday previews.

A part of McFarlane's posed figure collection, their new 1:6th scale figure is of The Silver Surfer. Specifically, this is based on the cover of Fantastic Four #72. The figure will also come with a re-printed issue of that iconic comic. Silver Surfer now joins The Human Torch and The Thing in McFarlane's Marvel series.

If the goal for The Fantastic Four: First Steps was for Marvel to finally get the comic world's first family right, then the mission has finally been accomplished. If the goal was more than that, the ship remains in orbit.
