The New York Rangers have hired Mike Sullivan as coach. Sullivan was out of a job for less than a week after he and the Pittsburgh Penguins agreed Monday to part ways.

It only took Mike Sullivan a couple days to find a new head coaching job in the NHL. The Pittsburgh Penguins parted ways with Sullivan on Monday after 10 years with the organization, and on Friday, the New York Rangers hired him as their new coach.

Sullivan became the Penguins head coach in December of 2015 and led the team to back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 2016 and 2017. Sullivan had 409 wins with the team, making him the Penguins all-time wins leader and the 14th coach in NHL history to win 400 games with one team.
