Qubits are the fundamental unit of quantum computing, like bits are the basic unit of digital computing. Bits can be a 0 or 1, but qubits can essentially be in more advanced states that can take on 0 and 1 at the same time, allowing them to perform much more complex calculations than your standard computers.

D-Wave stock was up 1.4% at $19.15 on Monday. The stock traded as high as $20.56 during the session, marking an intraday record. The S&P 500 and tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite were up 0.6% and 0.7%, respectively.

There’s still plenty of room for growth as the AI race continues to unfold. Still, some growth investors are already moving on to the next revolutionary technological leap with various quantum computing stocks.
