All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours, including updates on Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Rodrygo and more
It was not that long ago that Liverpool fans were piling in on the club’s hierarchy for their lack of signings. That certainly has not been the case this summer as the Premier League champions
Liverpool are making headlines again, this time by overtaking Arsenal in the pursuit of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, as reported by AS. The Reds, now front-runners in the race, are pushing hard to secure the Brazilian international as a potential replacement for Luis Diaz, who has expressed a desire to leave Anfield this summer.
Newcastle are refusing to sell their star striker, and with Arsenal no longer an option, the Reds could well be the likeliest side to sign Rodrygo, who is valued at €90 million (£77m). It remains to be seen, however, if Liverpool will still consider a move for Rodrygo even if they sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rodrygo could depart for an estimated fee of €100 million, though negotiations with Real Madrid are expected to be extensive, as most clubs in European football are aware that Los Blancos are actively planning to sell him.
According to Diario AS, Liverpool are now making a serious push for the Brazilian forward, with a club representative expected to travel to Madrid soon to begin official talks. Real Madrid are said to be asking for nearly €100 million, and Liverpool appear to be leading the race.
Liverpool are prepared to make a substantial bid for the winger, with Real hoping to collect €100m (£86m) from his sale. A move to bring him to Merseyside could depend on the future of Luis Diaz.
