Wales have been dealt a late injury blow with full-back Liam Williams a major doubt for the Six Nations clash with Italy. The experienced full-back had been struggling with a knee injury in the 43-0 defeat to France and Warren Gatland confirmed post-match that if Owen Watkin hadn't left the field in the first-half Williams would have been replaced.

Wales face one of the most significant games in their recent history this weekend as they travel for a showdown with Italy in Rome. On the face of it, and with the greatest respect to Italy, a jaunt to Rome shouldn't be so loaded with symbolic tension for such a proud rugby nation as Wales.

Jac Morgan captained Wales in the U20 Six Nations in 2020, achieving more turnovers than any other player in the tournament before it got halted due to the COVID pandemic. He made his senior Wales debut in 2022 and has made 17 appearances, and will captain Wales for the 2025 Six Nations tournament.
