White Sox release Joey Gallo, who shifts focus to pitching
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Veteran outfielder/first baseman Joey Gallo, who struggled miserably at the plate this spring, was granted his unconditional release by the White Sox Sunday. Gallo was 2-for-20 with two singles and one walk while striking out 11 times.

According to the former Texas Rangers All-Star, his time in MLB outfields is ending. Gallo shared an 18-second video to X/Twitter on Sunday, which displayed a few of his career highlights as an outfielder. Toward the end of the video, Gallo could be seen throwing as he participated in spring training with the White Sox.
