Neither of the past two trade deadlines had much action for the Reds, and it might not be that different of a story in 2025.

Cincinnati Reds ace Hunter Greene was still in Los Angeles Friday night, pending one more meeting with specialists before returning to Cincinnati.

CINCINNATI -- For the second straight game, Reds pitching allowed 11 runs. Friday night, those 11 runs came from the Detroit Tigers, who beat the Reds 11-5 in the first of a three-game series. It was a close game through 5 1/2 innings, but the Tigers scored eight runs in their final three innings at the plate to break the game open.

DETROIT -- Gleyber Torres led off with a first-pitch homer, the first of four solo shots by the Detroit Tigers in an 11-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night at Comerica Park. The Tigers (46-25) will play twice more this weekend against the Reds (35-35).

The Savannah Bananas are playing at Great American Ball Park on Friday night. Fav-favorite Sean Casey got an at-bat and drew a walk in only a way he could. The ball went to the backstop and Casey rounded first pretending he was going to try for second before retreating back to first.

"All I can do is go out there and do the best I can for my team every day, and the rest will take care of itself," Cincinnati Reds CF TJ Friedl said.
