Jack Eichel had a goal and an assist and Adin Hill made 23 saves as the Vegas Golden Knights moved into the NHL points lead with a 3-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Eichel recorded a power-play assist and won 18 of 23 faceoffs in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers.

The Sabres (14-21-5) remained last in the Eastern Conference and finished their road trip 1-2-1. Buffalo was outshot in the game, 33-24, and had only 10 shots on goal through the first two periods. Vegas goalie Adin Hill came within 2:18 of a shutout before a Jason Zucker deflection on a power play produced Buffalo's goal.
