A federal judge on Monday blocked immigration agents from conducting enforcement operations in houses of worship for Quakers and a handful of other religious groups.

A federal judge in Maryland on Monday partly granted a request from Quakers and other religious groups to limit the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s authority to conduct immigration enforcement in houses of worship.

Quakers, Baptists and Sikhs filed a lawsuit opposed to Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions at places of worship, which have been off limits.

The administration will not be able to make arrests where the Quakers, Cooperative Baptists and Sikhs worship, as those groups filed a lawsuit against the federal government.
