More than 200 rallied in Fort Myers to honor John Lewis and protest what they see as threats to civil and human rights.

More than 150 people gathered in Fred Cone Park in east Gainesville in honor of the late U.S. Congressman John Lewis.

The "Good Trouble Lives On" rallies fall on the 5th anniversary of the death of civil rights leader and former Congressman John Lewis.

Activists rallied, waved signs and greeted motorists while gathered on the evening of Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers. Participants were part of the “Good Trouble” national day of action to honor the legacy of civil rights icon John Lewis.

Nearly 50 Florida cities and counties will host “Good Trouble Lives On” protests against the Trump administration on Thursday, July 17. One protest will occur in St. Johns County from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
