Palestinian medics say Israeli airstrikes have killed at least five people in the Gaza Strip, including two infants and a woman.

Israeli strikes killed dozens of people across Gaza on Wednesday, Palestinian medics said, as talks to halt the fighting continued in Qatar and Israeli troops recovered the body of at least one hostage from a tunnel near the southern city of Rafah.

At least 13 people died in strikes across the Gaza Strip in the early hours of 2025, local health and civil defense officials said.

The Israeli military said it targeted militants who had taken part in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack that sparked the war, without providing evidence.

Gaza is a territory spanning 25 miles at its longest point, where the displaced are sheltering in tents on the beach.

Gaza's civil defence agency said a series of Israeli air strikes killed at least 14 people on Wednesday, in the latest violence to ravage the already devastated Palestinian territory.

Gaza's civil defense agency said Israeli forces pounded the Palestinian territory on Thursday, killing at least 12 people including three girls.
