Ubisoft announced a “strategic update” today, and the changes include a delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the upcoming entry in the franchise that takes place in feudal Japan, from February 14th to March 20th.

France's largest video game maker Ubisoft has decided to postpone the release of the newest game in its blockbuster franchise Assassin’s Creed to March 20 from Feb. 14, the company said on Thursday.

Ubisoft has delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows a second time with the game slipping from February this year to March. Originally poised to come out in November 2024, the game was delayed to February 14, 2025, to allow more time for extra polish, but has now received a second delay of nearly five weeks.

Ubisoft has said it is delaying Assassin's Creed Shadows again, as the company explores sale options. The highly-anticipated next Assassin's Creed game will now launch on 20th March. Previously the game was set to arrive on 14th February, after its initial delay from November 2014.

The People Make Games channel on YouTube published a video outlining disturbing allegations of abuse within Indonesian studio Brandoville, which had most recently collaborated with Ubisoft on Assassin's Creed Shadows.
