PLAINS, Ga. (WALB) -The state funeral ... 10:32 a.m.: Steven Ford, son of former President Gerald Ford - whom Carter defeated in his reelection bid in 1976 - speaks.

Carter was eulogized by Gerald Ford's son Steven, President Joe Biden, and his grandson Jason Carter. Carter was taken back to his hometown of Plains, Georgia.

He died in 2006. Here are the words, spoken by Steven Ford, that his father wrote: "By fate of a brief season, Jimmy Carter and I were rivals, ... Michigan, and Plains, Georgia.

Steven Ford, actor and Gerald Ford’s third son, ... Then, Carter will be buried in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, next to Rosalynn, who died November 19, 2023.

On a recent visit to Plains, a man in a white Ford Ranger stopped out front of Billy Carter's Service Station, a spot that now serves as a museum and was owned by Carter's brother of the same name.
