Texas Rangers first baseman Jake Burger joined the GBag Nation show on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM) to discuss his return to Texas after a stint at Triple-A, how he’s pulling himself out of his early-season slump, his experience with new hitting coach Bret Boone and more.

Bret recently replaced Donnie Ecker as Texas’ hitting coach, making Tuesday’s game the first big league competition between the brothers since 2005.

It will be the first time Boone, the 56-year-old older brother of New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone, is on a major league coaching staff. Bret Boone will join the Rangers on Tuesday for the opener of their three-game series in Boston.
