World no. 3 Carlos Alcaraz is safely through to his fourth consecutive Indian Wells quarter-final. The 21-year-old faced Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round and produced a convincing 6-1, 6-1 triumph in an hour and 14 minutes.

Grigor Dimitrov will compete in the last 16 in Indian Wells for the fourth time in the previous five years. The Bulgarian faced his great friend Gael Monfils in the third round and prevailed 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 in three hours and one minute.

The fight for four more quarterfinal spots at the ATP BNP Paribas Open continues in Indian Wells, California. Two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is the headline act on Day 8 as he attempts to defeat Grigor Dimitrov for the first time in two years.
