Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bill mandating mental health screenings for public school students in grades 3-12 in Illinois, making it the first state in the nation to do so.
The bill requires all school districts to offer mental health screenings to students enrolled in grades 3-12, at least once a year, beginning with the 2027-2028 school year.
